Can we do 7 digit dialing from devices? Thankfully for them, our platform does allow them to do this! Below is a description of how this works and what you need to do.
Our 7-digit dialer is dynamic. Meaning that you do not need to define the area code/prefix across an entire account.
- When you dial 7 digits, the system automatically prefixes you dial string with the area code from your offnet caller ID number. For example, lets say my normal outbound caller ID number is 484-555-1234. if I pick up a line and dialed "313-4569" the system will dial (484) 313-4569.
- There are two ways that 7 digit dialing can be done:
- You can pick up a line and then dial the 7 digits,
- You can dial the 7 digits and then press send.
- There are two ways that 7 digit dialing can be done:
Both of these methods work. How long the phone will wait in either circumstance may depend on the phone model itself and who makes it (generally the dial delay is programmed into the phone's dialplan). Sometimes you will have to be quick to dial your digits, other times the phone will wait indefinitely until you press send.
